Program

01. Friday
3-5 pm (kl 15-17): decorating/pynting
5 pm (kl 17): arrival/ankomst
Ca. 7 pm (kl. 19): BBQ and peel and eat shrimp, salad/grilling, reker og salat)
02. Saturday
9-10 am breakfast, open faced sandwiches/frokost
10 am leaving for tour at Granavolden
11-1 pm (kl 12-14) Tour at Granavolden, the Sister Churches and more.
1-2 pm Lunch can be purchased at Gjestegården. For those who stay at Åstjern, there will be a light lunch.
3 pm (kl 15), cakes and Prosecco/kaker og Prosecco
4 pm (kl 16), ceremony at the lake
5 pm (kl 17), dinner in the tent (and dancing
03. Sunday
9 am - breakfast
11 am, check out.
Location and How to Get There
Getting There
FLIGHT
If you fly to Norway, make sure you land at Gardermoen (OSL)
TRAIN
You can take a train from the airport to the Oslo Central Station (Oslo Sentralbane Stasjon) in less than an hour. Choose between the local train or the slightly more expensive Airport train (Flytoget)
From Oslo Central Station you can take a train going towards Gjøvik and get off at Bleiken. You have to let the conductor know that you will need the train to stop there. It takes just under 1.5 hours. We have two pick up times on Friday and one on Saturday (check off in the questionnaire). There are no taxi's.

These locations are about 30 minute drive from the wedding location in the town of Gran. Gran is a small town about 1.5 hour train ride from Oslo. Brandbu is a nearby town a little closer to the wedding location .

Facts: Weather, Dates and Time
For those not familiar with Norwegian weather, please know it varies a lot hour to hour and day to night, 50-85 Fahrenheit (10-30 Celsius) variation is not unusual. So bring:
Warm clothing (sweaters, windbreakers etc.)
Long sleeves, to avoid the mosquitoes
Bathing suits
Rain gear
Good hiking shoes
PS - Stilettoes are not suggested for the gravel/dirt area the wedding will happen in.

Kistefos Museum, an outdoor (and indoor) modern art park (for the NYC crowd, think DIA/Storm King combined).
Hadeland Glassverk. An active glass making facility with a gallery, several small varied stores and cafes.

Oslo
Lots of exciting things to see in this city. Getting an Oslo Pass might be a good idea.
For public transportation in Oslo you will need the Ruter App.

Tram to Majorstua (15 minute ride):
*The Vigeland Park (Frognerparken). Don't miss this!
Short trip, take a ferry or bus #30 to Bygdøy to see:
*The Norwegian Folk Museum (beautifully displayed old buildings and has an impressive stav church)
*Museum of the Viking Age
The Fram Museum
The Kon-Tiki Museum
Norwegian Maritime Museum
Take the T-banen, Line 1 to Frognerseteren (subway) for:
The Rose Castle (outdoor painting museum with work by Vebjørn Sand centered around the second world war)
Frognerseteren Cafe (a unique log cabin cafe with a great view over Oslo)
Take the tram 15-20 minutes to
Ekeberg Sculpture Park (a beautiful nature area with great sculptures, a view over Oslo and a nice cafe)

Travel in Norway
Summer is high tourist time, so I suggest planning and pre-booking places to stay as well as tickets for any tour/event etc.
Most Norwegians speak English.
